About Us
Dillon Waste is an award winning family run waste management company based in Tralee, Co. Kerry.
Garry Dillon, the company founder, has over 50 years experience in the waste management business. He constructed one of the first privately owned waste transfer and recycling centres in Ireland in 1994. Under the Waste Management Acts, 1996 – 2008, it was also the first privately owned transfer station issued with a waste permit licence.
On completion of a €6 million development in the construction of the most up-to-date waste management facility in the region in 2010, Dillon Waste have continued to review and improve our waste management solutions. Further to early investments of €2.2 million in 2013 & 2014, Dillon Waste completed a €1.8 million upgrade to our waste management facility, plant machinery and fleet of vehicles in 2016.
Further upgrades of €1 million were completed in 2018 to the material recovery facility with the installation of new ballistic separator and a series of conveyor belts.
In 2019, further investments of €900k for a new baler, conveyor and electric crane to reduce our carbon emissions
In 2022, Dillon Waste completed a €7 million investment on a new state of the art indoor civic amenity centre and transfer station located in Monavalley Industrial Estate, Tralee, Co. Kerry. This has allowed us to solely dedicate operations at The Kerries facility to the processing of Mixed Dry Recyclables and in 2023, a €3 million upgrade was completed to our existing recycling facility.
Dillon Waste have achieved a series of accolades and nominations
On 5th October 2012, Dillon Waste won the Repak Recovery Operator of the Year 2012 award in the small to medium company category. The award was presented to Garry and Brian Dillon by Minister Phil Hogan, Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government.
In 2013 & 2014, Dillon Waste were finalists in the Repak Recovery Operator of the Year small to medium company category.
On 22nd October 2015, Dillon Waste won the top award in the ‘Waste Collection Operator of the Year Award’ for small to medium business category in The Pakman Awards run by Repak.
In 2019, Dillon Waste were finalists in two categories, Best Environment & Heritage Enterprise and Best Innovation in Business Award category in The Kerryman Business Awards. Dillon Waste were honoured to win the Best Innovation Award on the night.
In the same year, Dillon Waste won the Green Transport of The Year Award in The Pakman awards hosted by Repak
In 2022, Dillon Waste were shortlisted for the Community Recycling Initiative category.
